Position Summary

As a Lead Engineer specializing in Mechanical Components, you will be instrumental in the design and development of avionics products that adhere to the highest standards of quality and dependability. Your technical acumen, analytical skills, and lean approach will be pivotal in achieving key business goals and surpassing customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct mechanical design, interconnect assessments, component selection, and tolerance analysis for avionics systems.
  • Develop comprehensive mechanical models, technical drawings, and material lists.
  • Perform thermal, stress, and vibration assessments to ensure compliance with environmental and operational standards, along with generating technical documentation.
  • Facilitate design and product reviews, ensuring compliance with quality benchmarks.
  • Engage with clients to comprehend their requirements and deliver customized solutions.
  • Guide junior engineers and oversee multi-disciplinary design teams.
  • Contribute to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives and architectural trade studies.
  • Offer technical assistance to production facilities for root cause analysis.
  • Identify and execute process enhancements to boost departmental efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Sponsorship for employment visas is not available for this position.
  • This role necessitates U.S. citizenship due to the use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions.
  • Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening (if applicable).
Desired Attributes:
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in packaging design for electronic assemblies.
  • Familiarity with Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
  • Proficiency in model and drawing creation using Siemens NX software.
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management systems (PTC Windchill).
  • Experience in vibration and thermal analysis utilizing FEA tools.
  • Understanding of aerospace standards, materials, and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated accountability, ownership, and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement.
