Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable BIM Technician to enhance our workforce. As a Virtual Design Engineer, you will have the chance to create 3D/4D models derived from 2D blueprints and specifications for field applications.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate your expertise in BIM Modeling using REVIT.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all BIM Modeling activities utilizing REVIT.
  • Convert 2D designs and specifications into comprehensive 3D/4D models.
  • Produce precise prefabrication drawings based on Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical design documents that adhere to industry standards.
  • Maintain and implement a project-specific BIM execution plan.
  • Review design specifications, criteria, and electrical standards.
  • Understand general electrical codes that influence design and methodologies.
  • Stay informed about current construction processes.
  • Modify engineered plans to create clear Field drawings.
  • Update project plans post-completion to generate Record drawings.
  • Keep abreast of technological advancements relevant to this role.
  • Facilitate open communication of non-confidential information across all departments.
  • Regularly update your supervisor on project progress, activities, challenges, solutions, and any unusual occurrences.
  • Participate in meetings as necessary.
  • Promptly inform your supervisor of any significant delays in project timelines, issues faced, and the anticipated resolution time.
  • Ensure all confidential information remains secure and is only shared with those who have a legitimate need to know.
  • Collaborate effectively with all team members.
  • Propose enhancements to your supervisor that could benefit any aspect of the organization.
  • Complete, submit, and maintain required records and reports.
  • Stay updated on technological changes by reviewing industry publications and suggest new materials, products, tools, equipment, and processes that could be beneficial to APG Electric.
  • Make decisions that prioritize the interests of APG Electric, Inc. over personal gain.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor or take on responsibilities that logically align with the role of a Virtual Design Engineer.

Work Environment:

This position may involve in-person, office, or partial remote work. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 4 PM.

To qualify, candidates should possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and successfully complete general aptitude and drug tests. Proficiency in computer-aided drafting (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and Navisworks is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and have a strong command of various computer software applications, particularly Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofreading materials, along with good to excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills, is crucial. Strong telephone and oral communication skills are also required.
