Position Summary:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Avionics Components, you will be instrumental in the design and development of high-quality aerospace products. Your expertise in mechanical engineering will be pivotal in achieving our strategic objectives and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct mechanical design, interconnect assessments, component selection, and tolerance analysis for avionics systems.
  • Develop comprehensive mechanical models, schematics, and material lists.
  • Perform thermal, stress, and vibration assessments to validate product compliance with environmental and operational standards, along with generating technical documentation.
  • Lead design reviews and work-product evaluations to uphold quality benchmarks.
  • Engage with clients to ascertain their requirements and deliver customized solutions.
  • Guide junior engineers and manage cross-functional design teams.
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives and architectural trade studies.
  • Offer technical assistance to production facilities during root cause analysis.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to improve departmental efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical engineering.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas for this position.
  • This role requires the use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and is only open to U.S. Citizens.
  • Any employment offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a drug screening (if applicable).
Desired Characteristics:
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in packaging design for electronic assemblies.
  • Familiarity with Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
  • Proficient in model and drawing creation using Siemens NX.
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management systems (PTC Windchill).
  • Experience in vibration and thermal analysis utilizing FEA tools.
  • Understanding of aerospace standards, materials, and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated accountability, ownership, and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
