Job Overview

The Senior Systems Engineering Lead will play a pivotal role in steering, mentoring, and actively participating in the systems engineering initiatives for Computing Interface Products Systems (CIPS). This position is designed to provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring they meet objectives related to cost, quality, timelines, and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Communication
  • Demonstrate leadership by effectively communicating business objectives, programs, and processes related to Computing Interface Products Systems (CIPS).
  • Utilize your expertise to address challenges, set and achieve goals for yourself and your team, and influence both short-term and long-term business outcomes.
Project Execution
  • Conduct design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects, applying sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards and product requirements.
  • Oversee System and Subsystem Level Design requirements.
  • Define and manage interfaces for all subsystems in alignment with the overall system solution.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Project Manager to create and implement design review matrices and conduct reviews.
  • Establish System Validation Plans, execute validation testing, and coordinate with Test Engineers to ensure project objectives are met.
Technical Oversight
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
  • Take ownership of technical concepts, solutions, risk mitigation strategies, and engineering cost estimates for proposals.
  • Maintain awareness of technical trends to ensure high-quality technical output, timely project completion, and responsiveness to customer needs.
  • Lead interdisciplinary collaboration with software, hardware, testing, safety, maintainability, reliability, and certification teams to ensure comprehensive project success.
  • Provide timely updates on significant issues or developments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical/science field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in design, implementation, integration, testing, and verification within Avionics Engineering Systems, Hardware/Software Engineering, or Electrical Design.
  • This position requires the use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions, and is only open to U.S. Citizens.
Preferred Attributes
  • Self-motivated individual capable of leading initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with systems including A664, ARINC429, A629, A615A, IEEE1394, RS485, A825, Discretes, and various sensors and effectors.
  • Background in System Design and Validation involving Microprocessors and Data Concentration.
  • Proficient in handling test equipment and data bus capturing tools, as well as scripting languages and data manipulation.
  • Knowledge of Avionics Systems and Aerospace Operating Practices.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into software application development.
  • Familiarity with DOORs Next Gen Requirements Management Tools and defect tracking systems.
  • Experience with System Testing Processes, Tools, and Automation.
  • Capability to implement customer and industry standards.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in an Avionics Design Assurance Level A Environment.
  • Familiarity with DO-297, ARP 4754A, DO-178, DO-254, and/or DO-330 process assurance.
  • Experience in customer technical interface and project estimation.
  • Possession of an active passport.
