BIM Technician

We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable BIM Technician to enhance our operations. As a Virtual Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing 3D/4D models from 2D drawings and specifications for practical application.

This role offers a unique chance to demonstrate your expertise in BIM Modeling using REVIT.

• Oversee all BIM Modeling activities utilizing REVIT.
• Convert 2D drawings and specifications into comprehensive 3D/4D models.
• Generate precise prefabrication drawings based on Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical design documents in line with industry standards.
• Maintain and execute a project-specific BIM execution plan.
• Analyze design specifications, criteria, and electrical requirements.
• Possess knowledge of general electrical codes impacting design or methodologies.
• Stay informed about current construction processes.
• Modify engineered plans to create clear Field drawings.
• Update project plans post-completion to produce Record drawings.
• Keep abreast of technological advancements relevant to this role.
• Facilitate open communication of non-confidential information across all firm functions.
• Regularly update your supervisor on project progress, activities, challenges, solutions, and any anomalies.
• Participate in meetings as necessary.
• Promptly inform your supervisor of any significant delays in project timelines, encountered issues, and the anticipated resolution time.
• Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information, sharing it only with those who have a legitimate need to know.
• Collaborate effectively with all team members.
• Propose enhancements to improve any aspect of the firm.
• Complete, submit, and maintain required records and reports.
• Stay current with technological developments by reviewing trade publications and suggest new materials, products, tools, equipment, and processes when applicable.
• Make decisions that prioritize the best interests of APG Electric, Inc.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor or take on responsibilities that align with the role of a Virtual Design Engineer.

This position is primarily in-person with a partial remote option. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 4 PM.

To qualify, candidates should possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and successfully complete general aptitude and drug tests. Proficiency in computer-aided drafting (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and Navisworks is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Familiarity with various computer software applications, particularly Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, is required. Strong attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofreading materials, along with excellent spelling, grammar, and communication skills, is crucial for success in this role.
