About the Role

Cocoon House is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Specialist to join our team at our Transitional Living Program in Everett. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for teens in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build Strong Relationships: Develop positive and collaborative relationships with youth and staff, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
  • Provide Support and Guidance: Offer guidance and support to youth in achieving their goals and overcoming challenges, while maintaining healthy and safe boundaries.
  • Assess and Respond to Emergencies: Assess emergency situations, gather relevant information, and provide appropriate support to ensure the well-being of youth.
  • Document and Record Keeping: Process intakes and exits for youth, provide orientation to new youth, and maintain accurate records and logs.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers: Work closely with case managers to support youth case plans, communicate with staff, and maintain up-to-date information.
  • Supervise and Monitor: Supervise youth in the program, ensuring their safety and well-being, while holding them accountable to policies and guidelines.
  • Life Skills and Enrichment: Assist and teach youth household tasks, provide meals, and arrange appointments and transportation as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma/GED or equivalent, 6 months minimum experience working with youth, and a valid driver's license.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to communicate effectively, lift up to 50 lbs, and run up and down stairs in case of emergency.
