Key Responsibilities:

  • Build Strong Relationships: Establish and maintain positive relationships with youth, staff, and community partners, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding.
  • Provide Supportive Care: Offer guidance, support, and encouragement to youth, helping them navigate challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Develop Life Skills: Teach and model essential life skills, such as household management, cooking, and time management, to help youth become self-sufficient.
  • Ensure Safety and Well-being: Maintain a safe and healthy environment, responding to emergencies and providing crisis intervention as needed.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with case managers, counselors, and other staff to ensure comprehensive support for youth, aligning with their individual needs and goals.
  • Document Progress: Accurately record and report on youth progress, providing valuable insights for program development and improvement.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience Working with Youth: A minimum of 6 months of experience working with youth, preferably in a residential or outreach setting.
  • DCYF Background Clearance: A valid DCYF background clearance is required.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation are necessary for this role.
