Cocoon House is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Specialist to join our team at our Transitional Living Program in Everett. As a key member of our residential team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for teens in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Build Meaningful Relationships: Establish and maintain positive relationships with youth, staff, and community partners to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Provide Life Skills and Support: Teach and model healthy life skills, social skills, and other enrichment activities to promote positive growth and development.
- Ensure Safety and Well-being: Assess emergency situations, provide proper support, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for all youth.
- Collaborate with Case Managers: Work closely with case managers to support youth case plans, communicate with staff, and maintain accurate records.
- Supervise and Mentor: Supervise youth in the program, hold them accountable to policies and guidelines, and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Participate in Enrichment Activities: Assist in planning and implementing enrichment activities, such as meal preparation, household tasks, and community outings.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate with youth, staff, and community partners to ensure clear understanding and effective support.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma/GED or equivalent, 6 months minimum experience working with youth, and a valid driver's license.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively, build positive relationships, and provide life skills and support to youth.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, run up and down stairs, and perform other physical tasks as needed.
- Competitive Compensation: Starting wage of $19/hour.
