Lead Financial Strategist

X-energy LLC is on the lookout for talented individuals to become part of our Financial Planning and Analysis team in the capacity of Lead Financial Strategist.

This role will play a crucial part in supporting X-energy's operational and governmental contract initiatives, particularly with the US Department of Energy. Key responsibilities include the preparation and examination of corporate financial statements, cost accounting for indirect functions, and long-term financial forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive financial reports, analysis, and forecasting to support the corporate office.
  • Assist in essential month-end processes to ensure the accuracy and completion of monthly financial reports through detailed transactional research.
  • Oversee the posting of transactions to the General Ledger for indirect and corporate expenses.
  • Review and assign appropriate cost account codes for subcontractor expenses, vendor invoices, and employee reimbursements.
  • Contribute to the development and management of financial tools, including budgeting, forecasting, compliance, resource tracking, and analysis.
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly Profit & Loss reports, performing variance analysis and providing insights on trends and discrepancies compared to Budget/Forecast/Prior periods.
  • Develop precise Estimates at Complete.
  • Support federal compliance initiatives by analyzing direct and indirect rates, documenting, and reviewing time and expense processes.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and long-term strategic planning efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders to serve as a trusted financial advisor.
  • Engage in other ad-hoc projects as assigned by the finance management team.
  • Perform additional duties as required by management.

Minimum Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a dynamic or transformational environment.
  • Proven experience in financial management.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ethical conduct.
  • Technical proficiency and a creative, hands-on approach.
  • Collaborative, highly driven, and self-motivated individual.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with team members and business units.
  • Track record of professional excellence.
  • Familiarity with FAR and DFARS regulations is preferred but not mandatory.
