Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage survey operations at the country level.
  • Develop, write, and review comprehensive survey reports, interpreting findings and detailing survey activities.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients and local survey partners, ensuring seamless communication throughout the survey lifecycle.
  • Create and oversee survey work plans and budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Supervise the selection and performance of survey implementation organizations, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Design and adapt survey instruments and protocols, securing necessary ethical approvals.
  • Review and enhance data collection applications for computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI).
  • Prepare training materials and conduct training sessions for local field staff on survey techniques.
  • Monitor data collection processes and uphold data quality standards.
  • Assess survey implementation and data utilization capabilities, designing capacity-building initiatives as needed.
  • Respond to project reporting requests and engage in learning events to share insights.
  • Guide junior staff in supporting survey initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other survey managers and contribute to various survey-related tasks as required.
  • Utilize advanced written and verbal English skills in all reports and presentations.
  • Willingness to travel to lower- and middle-income countries as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as food security, nutrition, economics, or agriculture.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and managing population-based household surveys.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders in low- and middle-income countries.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing project work plans and budgets.
  • Experience in training adults in research methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in a related field.
  • Experience conducting surveys in low- and middle-income contexts.
  • Familiarity with complex survey design and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and CAPI tools.
  • Fluency in additional languages such as French, Portuguese, or Spanish.
