Lead FP&A Analyst for Global Financial Strategy

Position Overview

Choice Hotels, a leading global lodging franchisor, is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Senior FP&A Analyst within our Finance team dedicated to the International Division. This division plays a crucial role in supporting our business operations outside the United States. As an integral member of this team, you will engage in financial collaboration and work with various international teams to drive our growth in regions such as Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the comprehensive financial management of the international division's Profit and Loss (P&L) statements.
  • Facilitate the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across the international division, which includes monthly financial closes, forecasts, budgets, and risk management strategies, while collaborating with the enterprise FP&A team for consolidation and reporting.
  • Adhere to project timelines and review milestones for each business unit under the international division to ensure timely submission of thoroughly vetted forecasts.
  • Develop consolidated presentations that encapsulate the division's forecasts, highlighting key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for specific business units within the International Division.
  • Design and modify forecasting models for revenue and expense projections.
  • Maintain and refine reporting packages utilized by senior executives and operational leaders to deliver both high-level and detailed insights, feedback, and recommendations regarding financial performance.
  • Collaborate with Financial Operations teams (accounting, treasury, tax) to ensure uniformity across financial statements.
  • Evaluate the effects of local currency fluctuations on business operations and partner with accounting and treasury teams to mitigate foreign exchange volatility.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • An MBA or a master's degree in a related field is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial modeling, reporting, planning, and financial statement analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
  • Familiarity with Tableau is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Spanish or French is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial professionals and interact effectively with all organizational levels.
  • A results-driven individual with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Experience working with multicultural teams across various time zones.
  • Exceptional project management skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated competencies in financial acumen, customer focus, and effective communication.

Team Dynamics

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager of FP&A International and Strategic Finance, requiring regular collaboration with cross-functional departments.

Work Environment

The Senior FP&A Analyst will operate from our corporate headquarters, engaging in a hybrid work model that combines in-office and remote work, fostering flexibility and ongoing communication with leadership to accommodate individual needs.
