Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct moderately complex planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting for projects of various contract types, sizes, complexities, and risk levels, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Forecast and identify discrepancies from project plans and pricing; manage change orders and provide financial insights to Project Leads while proactively addressing project cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain revenue recognition and management of Estimate-at-Completion (EACs), Estimates-to-Complete (ETCs), burn rate analyses, and related cost analyses.
  • Generate comprehensive financial reports detailing the monthly progress of assigned projects.
  • Review project setups, budgets, accounts receivables, and open commitments, along with monthly closing information and risk analysis.
  • Collaborate with Project Leads to maintain project budgets, conduct monthly budgeted vs. actual cost analyses, and create financial forecasts to support financial planning and analysis efforts.
  • Review monthly billing for accuracy, identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions.
  • Prepare internal and external reports on the financial status of assigned projects, including documentation and pricing for contract modifications.
  • Act as a liaison for project control analysis support between Corporate Finance and other business units, performing ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Assist in implementing financial policies and developing, managing, and reporting cost/schedule baseline data analysis.
  • Manage subcontract and purchase order activities, including preparing requisitions, processing invoices, and preparing accruals.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills by obtaining financial report information to assist projects in understanding their performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in government contract financial management.
  • Experience with various contract types, including Cost Reimbursable, Firm Fixed Price, and Time and Material contracts.
  • Experience within a Contract Research Organization (CRO) is advantageous, particularly in clinical trials or pharmaceuticals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with budgets and across multiple departments.
  • General understanding of government contracting indirect rate structures and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong data analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to model various financial scenarios using Excel.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Project; experience with Smartsheet is a plus.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Cognos/BI Reporting environments is preferred but not mandatory.
