Role Overview:

In the position of Logistics Supervisor, you will spearhead logistics operations, ensuring that our systems are both effective and economical. You will work closely with the Production Manager and guide a team to achieve outstanding outcomes. Your duties will encompass managing daily operations, training personnel, and fostering ongoing improvements within our logistics division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Performance Management: Oversee your team's performance and provide constructive feedback to facilitate growth.
  • Training Initiatives: Mentor and train team members to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge for success.
  • Recruitment Support: Participate in the hiring process and recommend candidates to enhance team capabilities.
  • Needs Assessment: Continuously assess departmental requirements and propose strategies to meet current and future demands.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Project Engagement: Actively engage in logistics projects and meetings to improve shipping and receiving processes, optimize warehouse configurations, and enhance product flow.
  • Inventory Oversight: Manage inventory control through cycle counts, turnover analysis, and adjustments to ensure precision and efficiency.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Supervise and schedule maintenance for all logistics equipment to minimize downtime and maintain peak performance.
  • Financial Compliance: Develop budget proposals and ensure adherence to financial regulations.
  • Quality Assurance and Customer Service:
  • Quality Control: Ensure all operations comply with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Customer Relations: Address customer complaints, provide effective solutions, and uphold high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements: A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is advantageous.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience: 2 - 5 years in shipping/receiving or a comparable role.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with ERP systems is crucial.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to assess situations and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Leadership: Prior supervisory experience with a focus on team development.
  • Budgeting Skills: Experience in budget recommendations and managing inventory and capital equipment.
