Position Overview:

In the role of Logistics Supervisor, you will spearhead logistics operations, ensuring our processes are both effective and economical. You will work closely with the Production Manager and lead a dedicated team to achieve outstanding outcomes. Your duties will encompass managing daily operations, mentoring team members, and fostering continuous improvement within our logistics sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Development:
  • Team Management: Direct your team by assessing their performance and offering constructive feedback.
  • Training and Mentorship: Guide and educate team members to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge for success.
  • Recruitment Support: Participate in the hiring process and recommend candidates to enhance team capabilities.
  • Needs Assessment: Regularly review departmental requirements and propose strategies to meet current and future demands.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Project Engagement: Engage in logistics projects and meetings to improve shipping and receiving practices, optimize warehouse configurations, and streamline product movement.
  • Inventory Oversight: Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, turnover analysis, and necessary adjustments.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Supervise and schedule maintenance for all logistics equipment to reduce downtime and ensure peak performance.
  • Budgeting and Compliance: Develop budget proposals and ensure adherence to financial regulations.
  • Quality Assurance and Customer Service:
  • Quality Control: Ensure all operations comply with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Customer Relations: Address customer complaints, provide effective solutions, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements: A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline is advantageous.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience: 2 - 5 years in shipping/receiving or a comparable position.
  • Communication Proficiency: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with ERP systems is crucial.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to assess situations and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Leadership Background: Prior supervisory experience with the capability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Budget Management: Experience in formulating budget recommendations and overseeing capital equipment and inventory.
