Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant Float PRN will provide clinical support to providers within our clinical practices, coordinating direct patient care activities and ensuring seamless patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to patient call backs and phone in prescription refill requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Administer medication and injections as directed by physicians/providers, maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Perform phlebotomy on patients as directed by physicians/providers, ensuring proper sample handling and storage.
  • Conduct EKG's, PFT's, spirometry, nebulizer treatments, and ear irrigations as required by the practice and directed by physicians/providers.
  • Perform in-office lab testing such as glucose testing, strep screens, pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and HgA1c as directed by physicians/providers.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Baptist Health System KY & IN policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency.
  • Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.
  • Basic Life Support certification and other advanced training as appropriate to be received within 90 days.
  • One of the following: prior working experience in a medical office/clinic performing clinical MA duties, Certified MA from the National Health Career Association (NHA), or completed any MA education program but has not received certification as of yet.
