Position Title: Medical Assistant (MA) Float PRN at BHMG Occupational Medicine

The Medical Assistant (MA) Float role is essential for facilitating direct patient care and providing clinical assistance to healthcare providers within our practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient follow-up calls and process medication refill requests via telephone.
- Administer medications and injections under the supervision of Physicians/Providers.
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, pulmonary function tests, nebulizer treatments, ear irrigations, and other procedures as directed by the Physician/Provider.
- Conduct in-office laboratory tests such as glucose testing, strep screenings, pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and HgA1c under the guidance of the physician/provider.
- Ensure proper sterilization of instruments for minor procedures/surgeries in accordance with CDC protocols.
- Maintain all required certifications and licenses as mandated for this position.
Qualifications:
Upon employment, candidates will be required to complete clinical competency evaluations and an MA orientation or externship, along with any additional training as specified by the Provider.
- A High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency is required.
- Basic computer proficiency, particularly in managing confidential databases, is necessary.
- Completion of Basic Life Support and other relevant advanced training within 90 days, along with prior experience in a medical office/clinic performing clinical MA duties.
- Candidates with certification from the National Health Career Association (NHA) or those who have completed an MA educational program but are not yet certified are also eligible.
