Southern Tennessee Regional Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care within our Emergency Services department.
About Us
As a Joint Commission accredited facility, we are committed to serving the healthcare needs of south-central Tennessee through our two locations.
Located in a picturesque area, our facility offers a blend of small-town charm and accessibility to larger urban centers.
Role Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse will:
- Deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in alignment with established standards and practices.
- Implement care plans, which include administering medications, collecting specimens, and performing clinical treatments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care provided.
- Monitor and communicate patient conditions effectively to the care team, physicians, patients, and their families.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care, including transfers, discharges, and addressing psychosocial needs.
- Assess educational needs of patients and families, providing tailored education based on individual circumstances.
- Advocate for the emotional and physical health of patients.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
- Occasionally perform tasks typically assigned to CNAs, MAs, or LPNs.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and committees as required.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
- Work scheduled shifts, including overtime when necessary.
- Accept on-call responsibilities as directed.
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with dress code standards.
Qualifications
Education: Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications:
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire
- AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire
- TNCC preferred
Licenses: Current and active Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of Tennessee.
