Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled RPA Avionics Technician I/Deployment Pool Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our deployment pool, you will be responsible for supporting deployments to various locations, both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS). This role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing deployment schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and inspect organizational and intermediate level electronic maintenance and modifications on RPA systems and support equipment.
  • Apply basic technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting technical orders, manufacturers' manuals, and similar documents.
  • Use test equipment and instruments to affect repairs and maintain equipment.
  • Exercise independent judgment in performing assigned tasks and make decisions in conjunction with designated direction from production staff, avionic leads, and other technical experts.
  • Maintain, repair, and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices.
  • Apply technical knowledge of electronics principles to determine malfunctions and restore equipment operations.
  • Work with limited supervision and perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or completion of relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum.
  • Minimum of one year of actual Aircraft Avionics and/or GCS maintenance experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics maintenance and repair, including RFF systems, components, and accessories.
  • General understanding of technical publications related to Aircraft electronics maintenance.
  • Knowledge of basic theory and principles of operation of engines, accessories, and components, theory of flight, and electronic flight controls.
  • Ability to use and read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and data tables.
  • Eligibility to gain and maintain one of the following IAT Level II certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, Security+ CE, SSCP, or GSEC, commensurate with assigned duties.
  • Ability to inspect and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and/or wear Military Issued Equipment in excess of 50 pounds for extended periods.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Submission of updated SF-86 within 30 days of hire start date.
  • Active Secret US Government Clearance within the last 12 months.
  • Maintenance of required DoD security clearance commensurate with assigned duties during employment.
  • Current/active State Issued Driver's License.
  • Valid U.S. Passport with a minimum of two years remaining with at least two facing pairs (four total) of blank Visa pages.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination with booster.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current IAT Level II Certification.
  • RPA Deployment Experience.
  • Prior Experience as a Defense Contractor.
  • MQ-9 Experience as an Avionics Technician.
  • Avionics Technician experience within the last 10 years.
