The role of the Program Support Coordinator is a vital position that demands self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to make independent decisions. This individual will be cross-trained to fulfill Home Coordinator responsibilities across all residential facilities and assist with Program Management tasks as necessary. The primary duties include overseeing staff, coordinating client medical care, managing emergency protocols, ensuring the implementation of Individual Plans (IP's), and overseeing the daily operations of the home.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Program Support Coordinator is accountable for ensuring that the home or homes operate in compliance with the certification standards set forth by the Department of Mental Health, as well as adhering to CARF accreditation guidelines and the policies of Woodhaven Learning Center.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in human services or supervisory experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Successful completion of an initial orientation is required, which includes training in CPR, First Aid, Positive Behavior Interventions, Universal Precautions, lifting techniques, medication administration, and other relevant topics concerning State and Federal regulations.
Additionally, candidates must obtain a valid Missouri chauffeur's license within the first two weeks of employment and maintain an acceptable driving record as per organizational policy. Cooperation and effective collaboration with clients, their families, and staff are essential. Completion of the Management Training Curriculum course is also a requirement.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Essential qualifications/functions of the position include:
- Reliability in attendance and ability to work scheduled hours.
- Minimization of overtime usage.
- Willingness to accept supervision.
- Capability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Possession of a chauffeur's license.
- Availability to carry a cell phone and respond to calls 24/7.
- Providing support to Home Coordinators during absences and vacant positions.
- Offering on-call relief to team members.
- Weekend coverage is mandatory, with one guaranteed weekend off each month.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position involves sedentary work that may require exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects. The role necessitates manual dexterity, vocal communication for exchanging ideas, and auditory perception for understanding spoken information. Visual acuity is required for analyzing written data and operating machinery. The worker is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions, although some homes may have specific lifting requirements.
