Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Operating Officer to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our executive leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of our healthcare delivery system, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery of patient care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in executive-level discussions on healthcare delivery and process design, including models of care delivery, physical work environment, technology, and human resource management.
  • Develop and implement a unified and coordinated delivery model of patient care services, ensuring alignment with Advocate Aurora Health's strategic plans.
  • Plan and operationalize new and expanded programs and sites of care, leveraging emerging technology to enhance patient care.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with physicians and collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote clinical services and grow market share.
  • Establish and implement a multi-year strategic plan and corresponding business plans, aligning with Advocate Aurora Health's strategic objectives.
  • Oversee master facility plans and design/construction projects, ensuring alignment with business needs and strategic plans.
  • Provide executive leadership and guidance to inpatient and outpatient departments, promoting collaboration and improving care delivery.
  • Directly accountable for resource allocation, including patient experience, capital and expense budgets, FTEs, and physical space.
  • Jointly lead operational and financial performance, including safety and health outcomes, patient experience, teammate and physician engagement, efficient throughput, operational efficiency, and philanthropic cultivation.
  • Oversee financial pro forma for new and expanded services, including capital needs, staffing, equipment, profitability, and training needs.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards developed to ensure quality, management, and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform human resources responsibilities, including interviewing, selection, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, and employee morale.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in Business, Hospital Administration, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare management.
  • Demonstrated management skills, including analytical skills, team building, conflict resolution, effective communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare finance, including managed care and healthcare reimbursement.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical operations and physician relations.
