Licensed Practical Nurse - Family Practice

Location: West Des Moines, Iowa

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

**$5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate LPN to enhance our team and uphold the exceptional level of care we provide to our patients.

As an LPN in our Family Medicine Clinic, you will be instrumental in facilitating efficient clinic operations and delivering top-notch patient care. Collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals, you will undertake a range of clinical and administrative duties to support patient services.

Primary Duties:
  • Patient Interaction: Welcome patients, record vital signs, collect medical histories, and prepare individuals for examinations and procedures.
  • Clinical Tasks: Assist with routine medical procedures, administer injections, conduct basic laboratory tests, and manage specimen collection. Ensure examination rooms are clean, well-stocked, and ready for patient use.
  • Patient Guidance: Educate patients on care instructions, including medication administration, lifestyle advice, and follow-up procedures. Address patient inquiries and concerns with empathy.
  • Administrative Assistance: Maintain patient records through the electronic health record (EHR) system, schedule appointments, manage phone communications, and assist with billing and insurance tasks as necessary.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care, including coordinating referrals and follow-up appointments, and communicating with other healthcare providers.
  • Supply Management: Oversee medical supplies and ensure all necessary equipment is maintained and operational.
Qualifications
  • Licensure: Valid LPN license to practice in the State of Iowa.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a family practice or primary care environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Skills: Strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to care.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and standard medical office practices.
  • CPR Certification: Current CPR certification is required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively within a team and foster positive relationships with patients and colleagues.
