Position Summary:

The Sales Specialist for Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Decommissioning/Recommissioning (De-Re), and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) projects is tasked with securing ongoing O&M contracts, which include preventative maintenance, monitoring, and significant repairs for commercial and industrial solar PV installations. This role also encompasses the sales of De-Re projects and C&I Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services within Colorado's front range. The individual will manage incoming leads, engage in business development to generate new opportunities, and build strong relationships with solar PV system owners, including commercial businesses, municipal agencies, non-profits, project developers, and financiers. Additionally, this position will involve preparing sales quotes and proposals, responding to RFPs, delivering presentations to potential clients, and providing sales support to both the Commercial Sales team and O&M operations teams for major repair bids.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage contracts for O&M, De-Re, and C&I EPC services focused on the front range of Colorado.
  • Establish and nurture business relationships with key stakeholders in the commercial solar PV sector.
  • Engage with potential clients, including commercial entities, government agencies, non-profits, and financial institutions.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline for O&M, De-Re, and C&I EPC sales.

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Commercial Business Development to implement sales strategies.
  • Identify and qualify new leads through proactive prospecting.
  • Maintain accurate customer information in the CRM system.
  • Deliver presentations and public speaking engagements to prospective clients.
  • Manage multiple client relationships across various stages of the sales process.
  • Conduct initial consultations and meetings with clients.
  • Work closely with the O&M operations team to assess non-standard project scopes.
  • Prepare detailed quotes and proposals for O&M, De-Re, and C&I EPC services.
  • Support the Commercial Sales team with O&M sales efforts.
  • Clearly communicate proposal and contract details to clients.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts for O&M, De-Re, and C&I EPC services.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings related to project hand-offs and kick-offs.
  • Gather necessary documentation related to solar PV systems.
  • Participate in team meetings and industry-related events.

Performance Standards:

  • Respond promptly to client inquiries.
  • Maintain up-to-date sales pipeline information in the CRM.
  • Effectively communicate with O&M and Commercial EPC Operations teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional relationship management abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial solar PV systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to set clear expectations.
  • Understanding of construction principles, including the ability to interpret electrical and structural plans.
  • Highly organized with strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to engage in constructive discussions on organizational priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NABCEP/COSEIA certification.
  • Experience in solar PV O&M.

Collaboration:

This position will work closely with the VP of Commercial, Senior Director of Commercial Business Development, Director of Commercial Sales, the Commercial Sales Team, and the O&M Operations Team.
