Overview:
The role involves supporting various facets of Global Capital Markets trust or entity management and servicing high net-worth private and institutional clients. The position provides assistance to junior account relationship managers with minimal oversight. It may involve serving as the administrator for medium to large and/or highly intricate clients. This role acts as the primary contact for clients concerning daily administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage client relationships, offering suitable recommendations for routine internal business functions.
- Support account representatives in revenue-generating initiatives by providing insightful recommendations, preparing documentation, and participating in client meetings. Oversee the daily execution of client strategies.
- Build and nurture client relationships within the assigned client portfolio, serving as the main point of contact; suggest services to enhance the client experience and address issues promptly.
- Coordinate with internal and external service partners; identify urgent issues and work towards resolving all other matters through standard business practices.
- Enhance and maintain industry knowledge relevant to the business, demonstrating the ability to communicate that knowledge effectively both internally and externally. Stay updated on industry developments pertinent to the line of business.
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of corporate policies and procedures relevant to the administrative function.
- Establish and uphold appropriate control measures to mitigate losses.
- Provide effective support to team members.
- Comprehend and comply with the company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in line with the company's risk appetite. Identify risk-related concerns that require escalation to management.
- Encourage a diverse environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Adhere to M&T internal control standards, ensuring timely implementation of internal and external audit recommendations along with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
This position may provide guidance to less experienced personnel or other staff members.
Education and Experience Required:
A combined minimum of 4 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 1 year of relevant experience with direct client interaction.
Strong emphasis on customer service and satisfaction.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience Preferred:
A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or Accounting, along with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience involving direct client contact.
CCTS (Certified Corporate Trust Specialist) certification if focusing on corporate trust.
Proficient in relevant software applications, with the ability to learn new tools.
Experience in a collaborative team environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to build significant trust with clients.
Self-assured and capable of working effectively with highly skilled individuals.
Strong analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong working relationships with administrative support areas relevant to the business unit.
Experience in fostering positive working relationships while maintaining integrity and professionalism.
