Job Title: Client Advocate II

Job Summary:

Catholic Charities is seeking a compassionate and self-motivated individual to serve as a Client Advocate II at our Higher Ground - Minneapolis and Mary Frey Opportunity Center locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality customer service to all persons by completing all applicable client requests.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for clients by providing referral information on a wide variety of topics, including housing, employment, and healthcare.
  • De-escalate situations as appropriate and communicate information regarding clients and programmatic concerns to other staff.
  • Enforce rules and policies consistently and respond to and submit incident reports for all instances of chemical abuse, theft, threats, and violations of program rules.
  • Serve as a Mandated Reporter and complete regular rounds checking all exits, fire doors, and safety equipment.
  • May drive van and/or administer breathalyzers, as required for program.
  • Assist supervisor/manager with program development, facility operations, and other responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work with low-income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to accurately enter data into computer system for reporting purposes.
  • Must be 21 years of age and successfully pass a criminal and a Department of Human Services background check, if required by program license.
  • Minimum of (1) one year of relevant experience.
