The Business Banking Relationship Executive is tasked with proactively identifying, acquiring, nurturing, and retaining client relationships by optimizing sales opportunities within a designated area. This role focuses on expanding and maintaining a portfolio of business accounts while ensuring an exceptional customer experience for both existing and potential clients.
Individuals in this position are recognized as Subject Matter Experts (SME) in Deposit, Credit, and Cash Management solutions, providing comprehensive support to their assigned branches.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary expert across a wide sales territory of assigned branches, collaborating with branch stakeholders and other area partners (e.g., Wealth Management, Mortgage).
Engage with cross-segment retail peers to foster collaboration aimed at enhancing relationships and executing the sales strategy.
Accountable for achieving scorecard metrics and KPIs as outlined by senior management.
Facilitate the development of small business acumen and skills within the assigned branch team through joint sales initiatives, continuous training, and identification of referral opportunities.
Manage a portfolio of high-value clients, focusing on deepening relationships and retaining their business while proactively addressing future needs and potential challenges.
Educate clients on suitable products and services that align with their requirements, thereby increasing both the balance and revenue of the portfolio.
Oversee credit requests up to $1MM and collaborate with senior Business Relationship Managers on larger lending relationships.
Formulate and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to meet scorecard objectives, attract new clients, and target high-potential industries within the designated territory.
Adhere to established sales management routines and protocols to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
Proactively manage a portfolio of assigned high-value clients, enhancing business banking relationships by identifying needs and maximizing opportunities while ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
Encourage teamwork and business banking expertise across all assigned branches to guarantee a positive customer experience, being accountable for client service metrics.
Collaborate with Consumer and Wealth partners to strengthen client relationships.
Work closely with the credit and risk teams to facilitate loan closings, including managing the pipeline, addressing escalations, and ensuring application quality and pricing integrity.
Strictly follow internal control policies, including accurate documentation and compliance with credit protocols.
Exercise sound judgment in risk assessment during business decision-making, with a focus on safeguarding the firm’s reputation and assets by ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and maintaining transparency in reporting control issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
2-5 years of banking experience, ideally with 2-3 years in Business Banking.
