Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at SSM Health. In this role, you will be responsible for communicating with patients, participants, and staff to accurately schedule patients for prescribed procedures and gather necessary demographic, insurance, and clinical information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and enter patient information into our database, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Schedule patient procedures in a manner that optimizes their time and clinical resources.
  • Coordinate and communicate schedules with patients, participants, and staff.
  • Assist with insurance pre-certification and authorization processes.
  • Provide counseling to patients and their representatives regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.
  • Perform clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; 10 years of work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • No prior experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to communicate with patients and staff.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
