The Customer Care Representative is responsible for addressing inquiries and resolving issues raised by policyholders and insurance providers through various communication channels, including phone, mail, and email. The inquiries typically pertain to coverage details, claims processing, costs, or billing matters, which may necessitate further investigation or referral for resolution.

Your Contributions:

  • Promptly and professionally handles all incoming calls, ensuring accurate documentation in line with departmental procedures.
  • Identifies and addresses inquiries or concerns presented by policyholders in a manner that meets or surpasses established client service standards.
  • Delivers precise information to policyholders in accordance with company guidelines or conducts necessary research (e.g., utilizing computerized systems to verify coverage or payment status).
  • Immediately escalates significant issues, service discrepancies, or irregularities to a supervisor for swift resolution.
  • Gathers comparative quotes for personal lines insurance (such as auto, homeowners, renters, etc.) and presents these options to policyholders.
  • Reviews insurance applications for accuracy and enters new policyholders into the computerized system. Monitors pending files for new business by date and follows up with carriers if policies are not received in a timely manner.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent educational qualification (GED).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service and/or sales, preferably within the insurance sector, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • A New York State Property & Casualty or Personal Lines license, or a commitment to obtain licensure upon hiring.

At Pearl Insurance, a division of One80 Intermediaries, the base salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes a wide range of benefits such as medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement savings plans, and paid time off. Eligible employees receive 10 days of paid time off and 11 paid holidays annually. The total compensation for this role may also encompass additional elements based on the specific position.The anticipated salary range for this role is $23.00 per hour, plus potential discretionary bonuses.The actual base salary offered may vary based on various individualized factors, including geographic location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
