The Customer Care Representative is responsible for addressing inquiries and resolving issues raised by policyholders and insurance providers through various communication channels including phone, mail, and electronic correspondence. Common inquiries relate to coverage details, claims processing, costs, or billing issues, which may necessitate further investigation or referral.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Responds to all incoming calls in a timely and professional manner, documenting interactions in line with departmental procedures.
  • Recognizes and addresses inquiries or concerns presented by policyholders in a way that meets or surpasses established client service standards.
  • Delivers precise information to policyholders in accordance with company guidelines or conducts necessary research (e.g., utilizing computerized systems to confirm coverage, verify payments, etc.).
  • Promptly escalates unresolved issues, service discrepancies, or unusual occurrences to a supervisor to ensure swift resolution.
  • Collects comparative quotes for personal lines insurance (such as auto, homeowners, renters, etc.) and presents these options to policyholders.
  • Reviews insurance applications for correctness and inputs new policyholders into the computerized system. Monitors pending files for new business by date, following up with insurance providers if policies are not received promptly.

Ideal Candidates Will Possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent educational background (GED).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service and/or sales, ideally within the insurance sector or a related field.
  • Proven computer skills, including proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • A New York State Property & Casualty or Personal Lines license, or a commitment to obtain licensure upon hiring.

At Pearl Insurance, a division of One80 Intermediaries, the base salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes a full range of benefits such as medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement savings plans, 10 days of paid time off, and 11 paid holidays for eligible employees. The total compensation for this role may also include additional elements based on the specific position.The anticipated salary range for this role is $23.00 per hour, plus a discretionary bonus.The actual base salary offered may vary based on several individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
