About the role and team

We are looking for a creative credit attorney to become our Senior Counsel, reporting directly to the Deputy General Counsel and VP of Regulatory & Product at Robinhood. In this capacity, you will work closely with product, engineering, and compliance teams to launch payment-related offerings. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable to a dynamic environment, and adept at cultivating strong partnerships. Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer legal expertise on retail offerings, including payment solutions, credit products, and banking services
  • Address intricate legal challenges swiftly and effectively
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks to meet product goals
  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations
  • Review and negotiate contracts and agreements for new offerings
  • Build relationships to facilitate product launches
  • Collaborate across functions with a business-oriented approach
  • Assist with various legal tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law institution
  • Active membership in at least one U.S. State Bar
  • 4+ years of pertinent experience in law firms, governmental bodies, or technology/financial services sectors
  • Familiarity with lending products and relevant consumer financial protection regulations
  • Experience with financial compliance and regulatory frameworks
  • Proven track record in launching customer service products
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Results-driven mindset with creativity and initiative
