We are currently looking for a Senior Investment Officer to join our distinguished team. This role will involve providing both onsite and remote leadership for federal programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or assist in the credit evaluation of new loan guarantee submissions, which includes comprehensive credit assessments, financial modeling, and risk evaluations associated with various projects.
  • Assess whether projects should advance through initial evaluations and enter the due diligence and underwriting phases.
  • Conduct thorough analyses prior to presenting findings to the origination team.
  • Prepare essential documentation required for financial, technical, and environmental assessments.
  • Highlight significant issues and ensure they are communicated effectively to the Client.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to determine the readiness of sponsored projects for full-scale commercialization and the initiation of comprehensive due diligence and underwriting.
  • Create presentations and project status dashboards for senior management, showcasing the current portfolio status of the loan guarantee program.
  • Oversee complex, sensitive, or precedent-setting transactions, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and relevant legislation.
  • Provide insights on project origination based on a detailed analysis of the technical, economic, legal, marketing, political, and financial viability of the projects.
  • Offer recommendations on areas of uncertainty in methodologies or evaluation processes due to ongoing program changes, technological advancements, or conflicting requirements.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a client-issued Public Trust.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and private sector credit markets, investment analysis, and loan administration practices.
  • Technical expertise in emerging renewable, clean fossil, and nuclear energy technologies, including solar, geothermal, and hydropower.
  • In-depth understanding of federal loan guarantee programs as outlined in the Federal Credit Reform Act of 1992.
  • Familiarity with financing concepts, principles, and practices, particularly in relation to project financing.
  • Knowledge of the legal documentation necessary for various financing vehicles.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and evaluate complex financial projects, including debt and equity transactions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of renewable energy, macroeconomics, investments, banking, and capital markets.
  • Capability to lead financial projects and coordinate the efforts of other professionals.
  • Understanding of carbon capture and storage technologies.
  • Ability to develop or finance common carrier transportation infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in creating new techniques and establishing criteria.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a solid grasp of fundamental business writing.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Compensation:
