We are seeking a dedicated professional to enhance our pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine services.
Unit Mission:
The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine is committed to establishing a premier academic unit focused on outstanding clinical care, education, and innovative research.
Position Overview:
The Division is looking for an individual at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. The role involves developing a robust academic career in pediatric pulmonary medicine, emphasizing clinical excellence and teaching, with research opportunities available based on individual interests and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Duties: Provide comprehensive clinical care in pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine across both outpatient and inpatient settings. Participation in weekend duties and on-call responsibilities is expected.
- Educational Role: Engage in teaching responsibilities related to Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, offering mentorship to medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Research Opportunities: While research is encouraged, it is not mandatory. Support for research activities will be contingent upon prior achievements and potential.
- Service Contributions: Participate in departmental or School of Medicine committees and engage in professional activities within the field, such as serving as a reviewer or organizing conferences.
Required Qualifications:
- Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Pulmonology.
- Experience in clinical care for patients from birth to 21 years of age.
- Experience in educating medical trainees and staff.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment within the faculty, staff, and student body.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training and Board Certification in Sleep Medicine.
- Prior experience in an academic medical institution.
- Research focus and/or external funding experience.
- Proven teaching excellence.
