We are seeking a highly qualified Pediatric Pulmonologist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a faculty member in our department, you will be responsible for providing clinical care, teaching, and research in the field of pediatric pulmonology.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Education: Provide instruction and mentorship to medical students, residents, and fellows in the area of pediatric pulmonology.
- Research and Scholarship: Develop and maintain a strong research program with a focus on pediatric pulmonology, and secure external funding to support your research efforts.
- Service and Leadership: Participate in departmental and school-wide committees, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to pediatric pulmonology.
- Clinical Practice: Provide high-quality patient care as a pulmonary physician in the Department of Pediatrics, and participate in weekend coverage and call as needed.
- Board certification or eligibility in pediatric pulmonology
- Experience in the clinical care of patients from birth to 21 years old
- Experience in education and mentorship of housestaff, medical students, and others
- Experience in research and research methodologies
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace
- Previous experience in an academic medical center
- Research focus and/or external funding
- Excellent teaching and communication skills
