Unit Mission:
The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine is committed to establishing a premier academic unit focused on outstanding clinical care, education, and innovative research.

Position Overview:
This role is intended for an individual at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will engage in the development of an academic career in pediatric pulmonary medicine, emphasizing superior clinical care and education, with research opportunities available based on individual interests and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Duties: Provide comprehensive clinical care in pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine across both outpatient and inpatient environments. Availability for weekend shifts and on-call duties is required.
  • Educational Role: Instruct and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine.
  • Research Engagement: While research is encouraged, it is not mandatory; support for research activities will be contingent upon prior achievements and potential.
  • Service Contributions: Participate in departmental or School of Medicine committees and engage in professional activities within the field, such as serving as a reviewer or organizing conferences.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Pulmonology.
  • Experience in the clinical management of patients from birth to 21 years of age.
  • Proven track record in educating medical personnel.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board Certification in Sleep Medicine.
  • Prior experience in an academic medical institution.
  • Research focus and/or external funding experience.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching methodologies.
