Job Overview

The role of the Sous Chef is pivotal within our culinary team, providing essential guidance and mentorship to team members to ensure an exceptional food and guest experience. The ideal candidate will possess extensive culinary expertise and a genuine enthusiasm for delivering outstanding cuisine and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively mentor and inspire team members to achieve their highest potential.
  • Identify areas for enhancement and implement improvements in operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to quality and sanitation standards.
  • Meet financial objectives and manage budgets effectively.
  • Set benchmarks for culinary excellence.
  • Oversee routine maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Communicate and manage inventory levels.
  • Assist in the development of menu specifications and monitor compliance.
  • Ensure all kitchen management protocols are followed, including checklists and cleaning schedules.
  • Prepare menu specifications as required.
  • Establish standards for chef table presentations.
  • Create prep sheets and layout diagrams for efficient food production.
  • Conduct daily checks to verify quality and flavor standards.
  • Lead culinary operations during events.
  • Manage monthly inventory in collaboration with the purchasing team.
  • Monitor and manage food waste to optimize cost control.
  • Provide training and coaching on menu items and culinary techniques.
  • Oversee employee breaks to maintain team well-being.
  • Facilitate pre-shift meetings to set expectations for events.
  • Address performance issues with team members through corrective actions.
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation for new culinary staff.
  • Ensure all aspects of food ordering, preparation, and service meet high standards of sanitation and safety.
  • Support other locations as needed.
  • Assist in recipe maintenance and updates.
  • Manage the culinary department budget.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years in a culinary leadership role.
  • Culinary degree preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Understanding of financial principles.
  • Passion for food, hospitality, and retail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
