Role Overview for Assistant Culinary Leader:

At the heart of The Woodall, we focus on chef-inspired cuisine, premium cocktails, and exceptional service. The Assistant Culinary Leader is responsible for ensuring a seamless process from the moment a guest places an order to the point where they enjoy their meal, precisely as requested. Our culinary team employs top-notch preparation techniques and service standards to deliver a world-class dining experience for every guest, consistently.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Adhering to all food safety and sanitation protocols while fostering a safe working environment.
  • Engaging with chefs, managers, and fellow team members to stay informed about daily specials, events, and essential shift updates.
  • Preparing workstations with necessary food items and equipment to ensure readiness for service.
  • Handling raw ingredients (e.g., fresh produce, meats) for line use and food preparation.
  • Mixing and assembling ingredients according to recipes, ensuring proper portioning and adherence to culinary standards.
  • Assisting the Chef in conducting final quality checks of all products before they are served.
  • Interpreting order tickets and/or listening to dish calls to determine required preparations.
  • Cooking food items following recipe guidelines, portion control, and cooking standards to fulfill guest orders.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the cooking area before, during, and after shifts, in line with The Woodall's standards.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, tools, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Supporting other team members as needed.

Qualifications Required:

  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a from-scratch kitchen.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a prep or line cook.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Able to taste and evaluate food and beverage offerings to understand flavor profiles and assist in preparation.
  • Ability to memorize and replicate food production techniques.
  • Capability to read and follow prep and service recipes.
