Position: Senior Estimator

Location: Various locations including the Metropolitan DMV and Eastern Shore
Reports To: Vice President

Summary:
Anchor Construction Corporation is seeking a dedicated Senior Estimator with a minimum of 8 years of experience in site construction, particularly in water, sewer, storm, and conduit projects. Familiarity with estimating in the Washington, DC area is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of contracts, plans, and specifications for awarded projects.
  • Possess strong knowledge of field construction tasks such as excavation, pipe installation, and restoration.
  • Estimate crew costs, including personnel, equipment, materials, and other expenses.
  • Supervise, mentor, and manage a team of estimators within the department.
  • Negotiate pricing effectively with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Utilize HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software proficiently.
  • Perform material take-offs for various projects.
  • Prepare bid packages for subcontractors.
  • Assist in the preparation of change order claims as necessary.
  • Participate in various meetings, including pre-bid and project turnover meetings.
  • Draft quote letters and correspondence as directed by the Vice President.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience as a construction estimator, focusing on water, sewer, storm, and conduit construction.
  • Basic understanding of construction tasks performed by company crews.
  • Proficient in computer software including HCSS Heavy Bid, MS Excel, and MS Word.
  • Experience with CRM systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform tasks that require walking and standing.

Work Environment:
General office setting with limited exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions.

Compensation: $125,000 - $150,000
