Lead Estimator for Infrastructure Projects

Summary:
Anchor Construction Corporation is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Estimator with a robust background in site construction, particularly in water, sewer, storm, and conduit projects. Candidates should possess a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, ideally within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of contracts, plans, and specifications for awarded projects.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of field construction tasks, including excavation and pipe installation.
- Estimate crew costs, encompassing personnel, equipment, materials, and additional expenses.
- Supervise and mentor a team of estimators within the department.
- Negotiate pricing effectively with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Utilize HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software proficiently.
- Perform detailed material take-offs for various projects.
- Prepare bid packages for subcontractor pricing.
- Assist in the development of change order claims as necessary.
- Participate in essential meetings, including pre-bid and project turnover meetings.
- Draft quote letters and correspondence as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience as a construction estimator, focusing on water, sewer, storm, and conduit construction.
- Familiarity with specific construction tasks performed by company crews.
- Proficient in relevant software, including HCSS Heavy Bid, MS Excel, and MS Word.
- Experience with CRM systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform tasks that may require walking and standing.
Work Environment:
Office setting with occasional exposure to varying atmospheric conditions.
Compensation: $125,000 - $150,000
