Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Operations Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

Scaffold Resource has established itself as a leading provider in the scaffold and vertical access sector within the Mid-Atlantic region for over twenty years. Since its inception in 1998, the company has expanded its capabilities to deliver a comprehensive range of vertical access solutions, effectively addressing diverse project requirements.

OVERVIEW:

This role is accountable to the Director of Operations and involves the effective management of the company's contractual commitments on assigned projects. The Operations Manager undertakes various responsibilities, including preparing financial documents, managing change orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction while facilitating collaboration between sales and operations teams. This position also oversees subcontractors to guarantee alignment with the company's objectives and assists in developing schedules for large-scale projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Engage in project-level communication with clients, addressing inquiries, generating necessary documentation, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
  2. Participate in site evaluations prior to and during the bidding process in collaboration with sales and operations teams.
  3. Create project notices and cost estimation documents for internal use.
  4. Attend progress meetings with both internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and key performance indicators to facilitate informed decision-making.
  5. Monitor budget performance against actual costs and utilize this information to propose enhancements and inform stakeholders.
  6. Review project drawings consistently to ensure production aligns with engineering specifications.
  7. Coordinate with the Finance and Administration team to generate progress billing documents.
  8. Manage change orders, including tracking and preparation of necessary documentation.
  9. Maintain regular communication with the Sales team to ensure client information is shared consistently.
  10. Collaborate with the Field Management team to ensure a seamless transition of project scopes, ensuring timely procurement of materials.
  11. Schedule and coordinate subcontractor activities, including contract preparation and oversight.
  12. Prepare documentation such as schedules and logistical plans for upcoming project phases.
  13. Oversee quality control, risk management, and compliance, while facilitating communication among various internal teams.
  14. Identify potential project risks and develop effective strategies to mitigate them, ensuring minimal disruptions and successful project outcomes.
  15. Travel to various project sites as required, with occasional travel outside the primary region based on project needs.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • College degree or certification in Project Management is advantageous.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Project Management or a related supervisory role within the Construction industry.
  • Experience with scaffolding, shoring, and hoisting is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including CRM systems, bidding software, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
