Medical Receptionist

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Service Representative to join our team at RadNet Bakersfield (Kern-Radiology). As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and Register Patients: Welcome patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner, ensuring a positive first impression of our facility.
- Manage Patient Information: Obtain or verify proper insurance and patient information, collect signatures, and ensure accuracy and completion of necessary documentation.
- Collect Co-Pays and Fees: Collect and log all co-pays and fees in a timely and efficient manner.
- Answer and Transfer Calls: Answer and transfer incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Schedule Appointments: Schedule, reschedule, or cancel new or current patients, confirm appointments, and notify staff of changes when necessary.
- Provide Patient Orientation: Give patients appropriate orientation for preparatory and safety protocols, and provide directions to facilities if needed.
- Coordinate with Back-Office Staff: Coordinate with the back-office staff for timely and effective care of patients.
- Safeguard Patient Property and Information: Demonstrate competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
- Respect Company Property: Safeguard any on-site medications in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and any legal requirements.
- Professional Behavior: Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.
- Effective Communication: Demonstrate ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and the public in a clinical setting.
- Cooperative Working Relationships: Demonstrate ability to establish, nurture, and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- High School Diploma or GED: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Intermediate to Advanced Computer Skills: Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- Strong Multitasking and Communication Skills: Must be able to demonstrate strong multitasking and communication skills.
- Experience Providing Exceptional Customer Service: Must have experience providing exceptional customer service.
- Medical Terminology Knowledge: Must have medical terminology knowledge and recent medical/radiology office experience is preferred.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $16.50 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package.
Work ScheduleThis is a midday shift position, Monday through Friday, 9:30am-6:00pm.
