Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Service Representative to join our team at RadNet Bakersfield (Kern-Radiology). As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and Register Patients: Welcome patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner, ensuring a positive first impression of our facility.
  • Manage Patient Information: Obtain or verify proper insurance and patient information, collect signatures, and ensure accuracy and completion of necessary documentation.
  • Collect Co-Pays and Fees: Collect and log all co-pays and fees in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Answer and Transfer Calls: Answer and transfer incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Schedule Appointments: Schedule, reschedule, or cancel new or current patients, confirm appointments, and notify staff of changes when necessary.
  • Provide Patient Orientation: Give patients appropriate orientation for preparatory and safety protocols, and provide directions to facilities if needed.
  • Coordinate with Back-Office Staff: Coordinate with the back-office staff for timely and effective care of patients.
  • Safeguard Patient Property and Information: Demonstrate competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
  • Respect Company Property: Safeguard any on-site medications in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and any legal requirements.
  • Professional Behavior: Demonstrate respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and the public in a clinical setting.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate ability to establish, nurture, and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Communication Skills: Strong multitasking and communication skills
  • Customer Service Experience: Experience providing exceptional customer service
  • Medical Terminology: Medical terminology knowledge and recent medical/radiology office experience is preferred
Work Environment

This is a midday shift position, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm, with availability to work weekends as needed.

The pay range for this position is $16.50 per hour.
