Medication Administration Aide

We are seeking dedicated and empathetic healthcare professionals who possess a CNA certification and aspire to advance their careers by becoming a Medication Administration Aide. The selected candidate will be enrolled or intending to enroll in a Medication Administration program, with our organization providing the necessary training.

Key Responsibilities
- Administering and preparing medications for residents under the supervision of RN/LPN.
- Overseeing resident self-administration of medications or providing medication reminders.
- Utilizing the Medication Administration Record (MAR) to confirm the correct individual, medication, dosage, route, and timing.
- Documenting vital signs, interventions, and other relevant information associated with medication administration.
- Ensuring resident confidentiality is maintained.
- Reporting any concerns to the supervising nurse.
- Assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Maintaining accurate records and adhering to company and HIPAA policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- CNA Certification is mandatory.
- State certification for medication administration (or willingness to obtain with our assistance).
- Minimum of 100 hours worked as a Medication Administration Aide and 4 hours of medication training annually since completing the program.
- At least one year of CNA experience in skilled nursing facilities or nursing homes.
- Commitment to providing quality services for residents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to engage positively with residents, their families, and other stakeholders.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
- Effective verbal, visual, and written communication skills.
