Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center - Janesville is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Cardiopulmonary Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Therapy Administration: Administer routine therapies to aid in the treatment, diagnosis, and evaluation of cardiopulmonary status.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergent care situations in the hospital and assist with resuscitation as directed by the Code Team Leader.
- Patient Assessment: Assess patients clinically before and after the administration or application of any medication, procedure, or device; recommend appropriate therapy.
- Equipment Management: Demonstrate competence in the set-up, calibration, and troubleshooting of mechanical ventilators, noninvasive ventilation devices, therapeutic bronchoscopies, and pulmonary function screens.
- Transportation: Transport adult patients on mechanical ventilators, non-invasive ventilation devices, and critically ill to intrahospital procedures and testing.
- Education and Documentation: Monitor, assess, educate, and document the patient and/or family on therapies, medications, goals of therapies, and equipment during treatment.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
- Licensure: WI Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
- Certification: RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) with The National Board for Respiratory Care or CRT-Certified Respiratory Therapist.
- Training: Approved CPR or BLS, ACLS within 6 months of hire, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 90 days of orientation for delivery attendance.
