The role involves providing support during patient assessments and treatments under the guidance of a registered nurse or healthcare provider.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with medical procedures as directed by healthcare professionals, performing designated clinical tasks.
  • Conduct patient interviews, monitor vital signs, and accurately document information in patient records. Prepare examination rooms for patient evaluations.
  • Handle basic administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and organizing files.
  • Manage inventory by ordering and restocking medical supplies, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  • Document patient-provider interactions, noting diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as directed. Transcribe orders for lab tests, imaging, and medications.
  • Maintain a state of alertness and prioritize safety in all tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience of 10 years.

Experience:

  • No prior experience necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Frequent use of auditory and verbal communication skills.
  • Regularly required to lift, carry, and push/pull items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting of items weighing between 25-50 lbs and moving patients.
  • Occasional driving may be required.

Required Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Certification options include:
