Job Overview

The Human Resources Specialist plays a crucial role in the effective management of the HR department at ST ANNE INSTITUTE. This position reports directly to the Chief People Officer and requires a commitment of 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess an AA, BA, or BS degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, along with a minimum of one year of relevant HR experience.

Key Responsibilities

The HR Specialist will oversee various daily operations within the HR department, including:

  • Benefits Administration: Manage all employee and volunteer benefit programs, including Health, Dental, Vision, 403(b), disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, FMLA, and worker's compensation.
  • Employee Support: Address employee inquiries regarding benefits, enrollment, terminations, and status changes.
  • HRIS Management: Maintain and update the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to ensure accurate records.
  • File Management: Keep current and organized HR files, documentation, and records.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to HR regulations, policies, and procedures, including FMLA, Worker's Compensation, COBRA, and Disability laws.
  • Open Enrollment Coordination: Assist in the facilitation of the Annual Open Enrollment process for employee benefits.
  • Safety and Compliance: Oversee the Employee Safety Plan and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Recruitment Support: Collaborate with the HR coordinator in hiring qualified candidates and conducting background checks.
  • Payroll Processing: Process employee status changes and provide necessary information for payroll.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and monitor employee performance reviews and related documentation.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Complete required reports for government agencies and provide necessary HR information for audits.
Administrative Duties

In addition to the above responsibilities, the HR Specialist will:

  • Adhere to the NYS Justice Center Code and the SAI Codes of Conduct/Ethics.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned to support the HR department's objectives.
