Role Responsibilities

The Chief Human Resources Officer collaborates with the Managing Director of Human Resources to design, implement, and propel essential human resource initiatives throughout the organization at both the School and Regional levels.

  • In collaboration with the Managing Director of Human Resources, executes HR leadership functions concerning Employee Relations, Organizational Development, and HR Operations.
  • Oversees HR data management, ensuring the integrity of data, compliance with record retention policies, and accurate documentation to enhance KIPP Capital Region's record-keeping practices.
  • Manages all aspects of employee leave, ensuring adherence to KIPP Capital Region policies and relevant federal and state regulations while providing exceptional support to employees and leaders.
  • Assists with employee relations and disciplinary matters, offering guidance to leaders and staff, consulting with legal counsel as necessary, and managing terminations.
  • Collaborates with various internal and external stakeholders to operationalize human resource practices and contribute to strategies that achieve desired outcomes.
  • Partners with the HR Team and School and Regional Leaders to conduct surveys, complete HR audits, and generate related reports.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in leadership roles with a focus on managing Human Resource goals and initiatives.
  • Experience collaborating with various departments in a fast-paced, growing environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to evolve Human Resource practices by staying current with industry trends and providing insights based on best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, with working knowledge of Google Applications, HRIS, LMS, and various HR software.
  • Experience working directly with students, preferably in a charter, private, or public school setting.
  • Prior experience in schools and urban communities is preferred but not mandatory.
