We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our team in the Medical Intermediate Care Unit at Alaska Regional Hospital, a leading healthcare provider in Anchorage.

Job Summary

As a member of our team, you will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to delivering quality patient care.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for prioritizing nursing care for assigned patients based on assessment data and identifying needs for intervention. You will also demonstrate appropriate decision making, critical thinking, and clinical judgment to make informed nursing decisions and identify health care needs.

  • You will evaluate and document each patient's response to medications, interventions, and procedures.
  • You will assist in the formulation, coordination, and implementation of the patient's Plan of Care based on the assessment of their individual needs.
  • You will monitor basic EKG, recognize rhythms, and have the ability to intervene as needed.
  • You will assist the physician with procedures such as intubation, line placement, and chest tubes.
  • You will ensure ventilator, monitors, and other equipment are functioning properly.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and education assistance.

Qualifications:

  • Current Alaska nursing license in good standing.
  • Associate's Degree in nursing required, Bachelor's preferred.
  • One-year IMCU experience required; Two years preferred; PCCN preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS).
