About the Role

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner on our Medical Intermediate Care Unit, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient-centered care. We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate individuals to join our team of healthcare professionals who share our commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will prioritize nursing care for assigned patients based on assessment data and identify needs for intervention.
  • Utilizing your expertise, you will demonstrate appropriate decision-making, critical thinking, and clinical judgment to make informed nursing decisions.
  • Evaluating and documenting each patient's response to medications, interventions, and procedures is a crucial aspect of this role.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will assist in the formulation, coordination, and implementation of individualized Plans of Care.
  • Monitoring basic EKG rhythms and intervening as necessary showcases your ability to stay up-to-date with best practices.
  • Assisting physicians with procedures such as intubation, line placement, and chest tubes demonstrates your versatility and adaptability.
  • Ensuring ventilator, monitor, and equipment functionality highlights your attention to detail and commitment to quality care.
  • Flexibility, organization, and effective functioning under stressful situations are essential qualities for success in this role.
  • Effective collaboration with fellow critical care team members showcases your excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • Current Alaska nursing license in good standing
  • Associate's Degree in nursing required; Bachelor's preferred
  • One year of IMCU experience is mandatory; two years or more is desired; PCCN certification is advantageous
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) certification and ACLS certification are prerequisites
