Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality patient care on our medical intermediate care unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

  • Prioritize nursing care for assigned patients based on assessment data and identifies needs for intervention.
  • Demonstrate appropriate decision making, critical thinking, and clinical judgment to make nursing decisions and identify health care needs.
  • Evaluate and document each patient's response to medications, interventions, and procedures.
  • Assist in the formulation, coordination, and implementation of the patient's Plan of Care based on the assessment of their individual needs.
  • Monitor basic EKG, recognize rhythms, and have the ability to intervene as needed.
  • Assist the physician with procedures such as intubation, line placement, and chest tubes.

Requirements:

  • Current Alaska nursing license in good standing.
  • Associate's Degree in nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • One-year IMCU experience required; Two years preferred; PCCN preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS).
