Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to spearhead and execute software development initiatives for our team, which is dedicated to modeling, simulation, and tool development that supports the analysis of aerospace systems, sensors, and related defense entities. The successful candidate will collaborate with a diverse group of developers and engineers to devise solutions for intricate technical challenges while contributing to defense and intelligence community projects.

This role offers flexibility for remote work on a part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with clients, senior investigators, software developers, and project managers in small teams to design and enhance software models and simulations that align with defense objectives.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, interpreting high-level guidance to independently and collaboratively uncover mission-critical insights, and effectively communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Utilize your analytical skills and customer-oriented mindset to identify and develop innovative capabilities across various domains to enhance modeling and simulation processes.
  • Leverage your expertise in experimental design, exploratory analysis, quantitative methods, and user interface design, while engaging with customers effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an ABET-accredited institution in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of related fields such as Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Predictive Modeling, Statistical Analysis, and Hypothesis Testing.
  • Experience in web-based development, C++, Python, MATLAB, Jira, agile methodologies, MySQL, and/or AFSIM models and architectures.
  • Familiarity with radar, aircraft, missile, and/or space systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and effectively interpret high-level guidance.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate your work to diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive self-starter with a history of continuous learning and innovative problem-solving.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Active SECRET or TS/SCI clearance.
  • Proficiency in AFSIM.
  • Strong skills in object-oriented programming languages such as C++.
  • Ability to assess software development or data acquisition requirements and propose optimal, cost-effective solutions.
  • Significant experience directly supporting defense sector clients, demonstrating progressive technical development and mission-focused results.
  • Experience in integrating analytical methodologies and utilizing existing COTS/GOTS/OS tools in innovative ways.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead project development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with version control technologies such as Git, SVN, or JIRA.
  • Understanding of embedded hardware/software development principles.
