Trauma Quality Coordinator RN Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Trauma Quality Coordinator RN to join our team at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, CA. This full-time position will work 8-hour day shifts and be responsible for leading improvement processes activities for the trauma population.

The successful candidate will apply their knowledge to review patient charts, quality indicators, analysis, and reporting in the Trauma Committee. They will also assist in monitoring and coordinating all aspects of the Trauma Service Performance Improvement and Patient Safety program.

This role requires clinical data abstraction from medical records of trauma patients for quality improvement purposes. The Trauma Quality Coordinator RN will also develop and implement injury prevention activities based on Providence Holy Cross trauma population and local epidemiological data.

Additionally, they will assist in coordinating and delivering trauma education for clinicians involved in trauma patient care, including EMS, Emergency, and Acute Care. They will also coordinate trauma care for patients throughout their hospitalization.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead improvement processes activities for the trauma population
  • Review patient charts, quality indicators, analysis, and reporting in the Trauma Committee
  • Assist in monitoring and coordinating all aspects of the Trauma Service Performance Improvement and Patient Safety program
  • Develop and implement injury prevention activities based on Providence Holy Cross trauma population and local epidemiological data
  • Assist in coordinating and delivering trauma education for clinicians involved in trauma patient care
  • Coordinate trauma care for patients throughout their hospitalization
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Within 6 months (180 days) of hire, completion of the Trauma Nursing Core Course
  • Trauma, emergency, or critical care experience within a healthcare organization
  • ICD-10 and Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) scoring course
  • Recent experience in Emergency, Critical Care, or Trauma nursing
  • Experience with collector software and the State Trauma Registry
